Happy 8 Months Brinley

So it's a day late but Brinley turned 8 months old yesterday! She is growing way to fast. She is on the go all the time crawling, pulling up and standing. It's only a matter of time before she lets go and walks across the room. I have a feeling that is going to be an emotional day as well as her turning 1. I think she is starting to grow out of the baby stage and is developing her own personality. Brinley is always making us laugh all the time. She is so happy and everyone always comments on how happy she is. They also comment on how beautiful her eyes are. I feel like I say "No Brinley" more that 100 times a day. She warms my heart everyday and I can't imagine life without her.
She got an early Christmas present from her Uncle Dan and Aunt Alea and it was so cute that I decided to take her monthly pic in it. She however was not to cooperative. She doesn't care to much for the puffer vest but hopefully she will get used to it.
Thank you Uncle Dan and Aunt Alea for the super cute outfit. We love you!

B was not to into taking her pictures this month. She is beginning to be very much like her dad when it comes to pictures. Greg would rather have a tooth pulled than smile for a picture! I hope Brinley grows out if this because I am always taking pictures, she just might as well get used to it now!

What is Brinley up to?!
  • She still nurses for her morning and evening feeding and eats around 4 - 6 oz of formula about three times a day from a bottle.
  • She eats solid food twice a day and is starting to dislike baby food. She really would rather feed herself.
  • She sleeps about 10 hours at night and takes at least two naps during the day!
  • She gets up at about 7AM and is asleep by 8:30
  • She is eating puffs and yogurt melts!
  •  She still only has 2 teeth on the bottom, but I think she might be getting another one because she has been very fussy and has a bad runny nose!
  • She had been wearing size 1-2 diapers but just last week we switched to size 2!
  • She wears a size 1 shoe
  • She wears a few 3-6 month tops but mostly 6-9 month tops and 6-9 month pants.
  • She doesn't care to much about her pacifier unless she is very tired.
  • She can hold her bottle all by herself but chooses not to most of the time.

  • She loves bath time=) We finally got some bath toys and she could sit in there and play for hours. She however doesn't like to have the water sprayed on her head!
  • She loves to splash!
  • She definitely knows who mommy and daddy are and when we leave the room or come back in. She is having attachment issues!
  • She loves Coco, but Coco doesn't care to much for her. Brinley like to "pet" her and play with her toys. Coco isn't really into sharing!
  • She says "Mom Mom" and I love it. She also says "Baba"
  • She claps for herself and everything else!

  •  Sometimes she waves but she really doesn't have it down yet.
  • She gives open mouth kisses and then claps and smiles really big after!
  • She is CRAWLING everywhere and I am constantly picking things up and putting them up higher!
  • She pulls up and stands, very wobbly still!
  • She had her first boo-boo and black eye! She feel on a toy at the sitters. Jennifer (the sitter) said it just broke her little heart and she cried to no end!

  •  She loves all her toys especially if they make noise. She goes from toy to toy with a very short attention span.
  • She loves music and likes to dance to it!
  • She loves other kids and just stares at them when she hears them cry or scream.

  •  She is super happy when she wakes up in the AM and from a nap.
  • She is a noisy little girl! She is always making noise and she loves to hear herself! She talks and screams all the time.
  • She loves to be outside but it is very cold now and she doesn't get to go out much.

  •  She is finally figuring out a sippy cup and starting to use it!
  • She sleeps in her own crib in her own room!
  • I have no idea what she weighs or how tall she is. We will find out next month. All I know is that almost all her pants are to short and she has quite the belly!

Brinley Nicole,
We love you more than you will ever know. Each day we love you even more than the day before. Your smile makes everyday a wonderful day. I pray that we are teaching you right from wrong and that one day you will understand why we tell you NO so much! You are growing way to fast and developing your own personality. Your dad and I couldn't ask for a more perfect daughter. We thank God everyday for choosing us to be your parents. We know that we can make it through as a family!
We love to the moon and back,
Mommy and Daddy

School Christmas Program/Clapping

So I am a 3rd Grade teacher and we had our annual Christmas Program on Thursday Dec. 16th. After work I came home and we got ready to head out to Lahoma. Greg is such a great husband. He always goes to the Christmas Program with me and attends my work functions. He might grumble about it but he is always there. I appreciate him more than he will ever know! His parents went with us this year also. It was a good thing because B can be a handful if she can't get on the ground and move around. My class was performing and so was my 14 year old sister (she is in the High School band). My kids just loved seeing Brinley. As soon as we got there they surrounded her and just oohed and aahed over her. She started off on my mom's lap, then was on dad's and ended up falling asleep in Grandma Jane's lap. She was so good through the whole program! This was her first time to dress up for Christmas and I have to brag on her out fit because I made it!!!
I am very impressed with the way it turned out! The program was wonderful and really put me in the Christmas spirit!

Our Family of 3

Brinley and I

Love the outfit and of course her smile!

Another cute Christmas Outfit! The onesie and the leg warmers came from Gina Overstreet at Blissful Bows Boutique

Clapping - It took a little while but dad taught her how to clap. Now she claps at everything. It is so cute. I love it!

My next post will be Brinley's 8 month pics! She is getting so big!

In the AM

This is what I saw when I walked into Brinley's room this morning!

BATH TIME

Brinley has really been enjoying bath time lately. She gets really excited when she sees her daddy getting the bath ready! It just melts my heart when I see Greg interact with Brinley. She loves it when she gets to play with dad during bath time.

Look close: She has a bubble beard!

There's that tongue again!

Splish Splash, Brinley's takin a bath...

This is her favorite part of bath time. Her tub has an attached "shower head" and she just loves when her dad sprays the water in her mouth!

A little bit of everything

OK, so I am trying to catch up and I hope this takes care of it! Haha
These days Brinley is crawling around everywhere, there is no stopping her! She has this really funny crawl. She rarely puts her left knee on the floor when she crawls. I'm not really sure how she does it, but she is very good and super fast at it! It makes me sad to think that in only 4 months I will be celebrating this little girls first birthday!

An Action Shot

You can almost always bet that her tongue will be hanging out!

Playtime with Daddy

Such a beautiful smile!

This is the look I get when I say  "No, you cannot have any of Coco's dog food!"

Getting into her toy basket

Trying to pull herself up. It's a little hard for her to do on the hardwood floors!

But...If she really wants something that she sees she will do whatever she needs to to get it!

Thanksgiving/B feeding herself/Bedlam Football

Ok so I am very behind on blogging. I really would like to make at least one post a week, but as you can see that hasn't been happening. We have been very busy around our house and I haven't made a post since B turned 7 months old! I am going to post everything in between now and then because I want to be able to keep a record of it for B so if you are not interested just wait until I post about our recent happenings!! HAHA

Thanksgiving with the BURT's
We had Thanksgiving with Greg's parents on Saturday Nov. 27th because we had Thanksgiving with my mom and grandparents on Thanksgiving and his dad was working nights so it worked out better for all of us to wait until then. I really enjoy spending time with my inlaws especially now that Greg and I have B. You always hear people say how much they can't stand their in-laws but it is not the case here. Jane and I get along great and we really enjoy making fun of the guys...
B wore her super cute turkey shirt that I bought from Ziggy Tails on Etsy! She was so great to work with and I got my shirt only a few days after ordering it.
Glad I took pics as soon as we got there because shortly after these B got a little sick to her tummy and the shirt was no longer as cute as seen here!

Burt Family Pic
(Not so good but as good as it gets with us!)

B feeding herself
Brinley has been eating baby food so good and is getting very interested in what we are eating so I decided to try her on some Gerber Graduate Puffs. This was her first time to have any and to feed herself. At first she just kept bending her head down to my hand to grab them with her mouth but she soon figured out that she could pick them up herself and put them in her mouth on her own. Once she go that down she wanted to keep on eating.

I think we are starting a bad habit. She was watching TV and eating in grandma Jane's living room!

Bedlam Football
Bedlam football at our house can be a little intense. I am an OSU Fan through and through (having gone to school there for 4 years and all). Don't get me wrong I will cheer for OU as long as they are not playing my Cowboys! GO POKES!! Greg however is the total opposite of me. We truly have a house divided. Poor Brinley she is not going to know who to cheer for at Bedlam games.
Well we decided to watch the game at Gene and Jane's house, which is like our household (Jane is OSU and Gene is OU). Before we headed over there I quickly dressed Brinley. I knew that if I dressed her, no matter what she was wearing Greg would not change her, just complain about it, because dressing B is not his favorite thing to do! Well it just so happened that I bought her an OSU onesie while in Stillwater at homecoming and ordered some cute baby legs from Beez Kneez Boutique.
Even though our Cowboys lost it was a well fought game and I am still proud to say that I am a Cowboy Fan! (No bandwagon girl here!!!)

Greg really wasn't happy when he came in the room and saw B wearing this, and I asked him to take a pic of it. She seemed pretty happy though!

The entire outfit!

Stay tuned for some crawling, pulling up, playtime and bath pics!
